Cold germs spread all over the place so you should wash your hands&#8230; but the <a href=\"http:\/\/www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov\/pubmed\/3039011?dopt=Abstract\">poker players<\/a> using cards and chips soaked in nasal secretions (ie <a href=\"http:\/\/www.microbeworld.org\/index.php?option=com_content&amp;view=article&amp;id=373&amp;Itemid=214\">fomites<\/a>, my new favorite word) didn&#8217;t catch colds, and many of those who played in the same room, with their hands restrained, did. To misapply William Goldman, &#8220;<a href=\"http:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Adventures_in_the_Screen_Trade#.22Nobody_Knows_Anything.22\">Nobody knows anything<\/a>.&#8221; OK, that&#8217;s too strong, but we know so very very little.
