{"id":609,"date":"2020-08-26T08:59:00","date_gmt":"2020-08-26T12:59:00","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.salticid.com\/marathon\/?p=609"},"modified":"2020-12-30T13:39:57","modified_gmt":"2020-12-30T18:39:57","slug":"kidney-nicknames-captain-and-tennille","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.salticid.com\/marathon\/2020\/08\/kidney-nicknames-captain-and-tennille\/","title":{"rendered":"Kidney nicknames: Captain and Tennille"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">It&#8217;s a thing to name your kidneys, as I discovered on the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.facebook.com\/groups\/2246296390\">Facebook donor group<\/a>, and I wanted to participate because I&#8217;m a sucker for that kind of thing. \u00a0It took a while to come up with mine &#8211; I was leaning towards &#8220;<a href=\"https:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Wheeler_%26_Woolsey\">Wheeler\u00a0and\u00a0Woolsey<\/a>&#8221; after flirting with &#8220;<a href=\"https:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Castor_and_Pollux\">Castor and Pollux<\/a>,&#8221; but those were too obscure. <a href=\"https:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Captain_%26_Tennille\">Captain and Tennille<\/a> was a last minute joking suggestion from Jonathan and I jumped on it. Then he warned me &#8220;They got divorced&#8221; but hey, mine are splitting up too! Wikipedia says they stayed friends and that Captain (Daryl Dragon) had end stage renal disease&#8230; I&#8217;ll keep him, hoping to change his outcome, and send Toni Tennille off to help someone else.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">As a project while waiting for a match, I started assembling all the nicknames I could find mentioned.
